Ragnarok sees the Asgardian god (Chris Hemsworth) joining forces with brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and pal Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) to take on the goddess of evil, Hela (Cate Blanchett)

In Thor: Ragnarok, Thor must escape the alien planet Sakaar in time to save Asgard from Hela and the impending Ragnarok.

Thor: Ragnarok is all set for a thunderous opening this weekend with distributors and theater owners counting on the superhero film to end the low run of the US box office business here.

Thor 3 opened in several markets last weekend which included the UK, Australia, Brazil and South Korea to name a few.

The film has earned an approximate of $107 million at the international box office. With regard to domestic, the film is expected to surpass the $100 million mark as well.

It is the sequel to 2011’s Thor and 2013’s Thor: The Dark World and the seventeenth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Taika Waititi.
