Gandhi Jayanti (2nd October) is one of the most important days in India and we celebrate this day every year to honour the father of a nation for their special participation.

Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated on the birthday of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, one of the most famous freedom fighters of India. Also known as Bapu (meaning father in Gujarati), Mahatma Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869, in Porbandar in the state of Gujarat.

The love, respect and faith he got from the people of his country even got him the title “Father of the Nation”.

Gandhi, one of the most simple and modest person, in his biography, admits he did not find himself worthy of the title and was often pained and upset by it.

Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti is one of the three National Holidays of India aside from, Independence Day and Republic Day. Schools, colleges and other educational institutions, government and non-government organizations, shops and markets are all closed on this day.

Gandhi Jayanti is marked by prayer services and tributes all over India, including at Gandhi’s memorial in New Delhi where he was cremated.

Popular activities include prayer meetings, commemorative ceremonies in different cities by colleges, local government institutions and socio-political institutions.

Good morning to the Respected Teachers and my dear Colleagues. As we all know the reason for nice gathering here in such a huge crowd. We are here to celebrate the Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi and to give them our heartily tribute for their hard efforts of making our and nation’s future.

On 2nd October, Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated every year. On this day, one of the great leaders who helped India to get independent was born. His name is Mahatma Gandhi. His philosophy and idea of Non-Violence (Ahimsa) led the country to get free. Hence this day is also termed as International Day of Non-Violence.  The teachings of Gandhi says that Non-Violence is mightier than any mightiest weapon of destruction.

The present Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, also declared that from 2nd October 2014, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan will going to take place in a large way. He declared the day as a non-holiday to the Government workers and staffs and directs them to take cleanliness awareness in their offices on that day. On that day, Government employee’s and staff’s take action of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in their respective workplace.

Mr Modi, the present Prime Minister of India, also urged all the Indian’s to devote at least 2 hrs. per week to clean their surroundings. On 2nd October, Mr Modi himself cleaned the India Gate area in New Delhi. Mahatma Gandhi is known as the “Father of Nation” because of his work done for India to get freedom. His teachings are still in the blood of every Indian. People all over the world celebrate 2nd October as Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. On this day, schools and colleges remain closed. People organize events and throw speeches on the life and work done by Mahatma Gandhi.

Mahatma Gandhi’s full name is Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi is popularly also known as Bapu. Its Mahatma Gandhi’s effort, in 1914, the Indian Relief Act was passed. He was one of the members of Satyagraha Movement as well as the Non-Cooperation Movement. He also led the historic Dandi March. In 1942, he also started “Quit India” Movement. It’s all his efforts, British leave India and India got its Independence in August 1947.

मेरे आदरणीय अध्यापक महोदय एवं मेरे प्रिय साथी गण आप सभी को मेरा नमस्कार. सबसे पहले मैं गांधी जयंती के इस शुभ अवसर पर महात्मा गांधी जी को नमन करता हूं. दोस्तों महात्मा गांधी जी अहिंसा के मार्ग पर चलने वाले एक महान नेता थे इनका जन्म 1869 को गुजरात के पोरबंदर में हुआ था आज के दिन ही यानी 2 अक्टूबर को इनका जन्म हुआ था इसलिए हम गांधी जयंती आज के दिन मनाते हैं. महात्मा गांधी जी का पूरा नाम मोहनदास करमचंद गांधी था महात्मा गांधी जी ने अपने देश को आजाद कराने के लिए कई आंदोलन किए थे वह अहिंसा के मार्ग पर चलने वाले थे उन्होंने अहिंसा के दम पर ही देश को आजाद करा दिया था. आज के दिन इस गांधी जयंती के अवसर पर हम सभी को महात्मा गांधी जी के जीवन काल से बहुत कुछ सीखने की जरूरत है.

हम सब भी अहिंसा के दम पर बहुत कुछ कर सकते हैं, बहुत कुछ जीत सकते हैं जो हिंसा से नहीं पाया जा सकता है वह हम अहिंसा से पा सकते हैं. महात्मा गांधी जी ने देश के लिए कई आंदोलन किए जैसे कि असहयोग आंदोलन जो कि उन्होंने 1920 में किया था उन्होंने दांडी यात्रा भी की और भारत छोड़ो आंदोलन भी महात्मा गांधी जी ने किया इनके किए गए कार्यों की वजह से हमारे देश को आजादी मिली. महात्मा गांधी जी ने इसके अलावा भी हमारे देश में फैली कुरीतियों, किसानों पर हो रहे अत्याचारों को दूर करने के लिए भी कार्य किये. वैसे हम देखें तो महात्मा गांधी जी ने विदेश में शिक्षा प्राप्त की थी वह चाहते तो अच्छा पैसा कमाकर अपने जीवन में आगे बढ़ सकते थे लेकिन इस महान विभूति के अंदर देश प्रेम था वह देश के लिए, देश के नागरिकों के लिए कुछ करना चाहते थे इसलिए उन्होंने देश के लिए अपने प्राणों का भी बलिदान दे दिया.

उन्होंने अपने प्राणों की बिल्कुल भी परवाह नहीं की. गांधी जयंती के दिन हम सभी को महात्मा गांधी जी के रास्ते पर चलने की जरूरत है आज के दिन हम जैसे नौजवानों को महात्मा गांधी जी से सीख लेने की जरूरत है कि जो हिंसा नहीं कर सकती वह अहिंसा कर सकती है. महात्मा गांधी जी देश के राष्ट्रपिता हैं हम सभी उन्हें नमन करते हैं मैं आज के दिन यही चाहता हूं कि यहां पर खड़ा हुआ हर एक नागरिक आज के दिन महात्मा गांधी जी के बताए हुए मार्ग पर चलें और देश से प्रेम करें, देश के लिए कुछ करें इसी के साथ मैं अपने शब्दों को विराम देता हूं |
